Quick Bio
I was born in Rochester, NY about 7 months after the infamous Studio 54 first opened its doors in New York City. My father died when I was 12, and I graduated from Mt. Morris Central School in 1995. I then tried going to SUNY Brockport, but after 13 years of sitting in a classroom I was more than ready to begin a career. Luckily I have a knack for anything technical, so I began troubleshooting computers and have been able to make a decent living doing that ever since. I am now a network administrator for a mid-sized corporation. Oh what fun.
Why a Murray Head site? Well, I first heard him on the Jesus Christ: Superstar album when I was 18 and thought, man this guy has an annoying voice. It grew on me. Soon I had discovered Chess watching MTV, and a few years after that I ended up buying all his solo albums. I was amazed by the range of his voice, his ability to be smooth in some songs and blood-curdling in others. He has a soulfulness that's absent in most other white pop/rock singers.
I also had the itch to create a website, and I didn't want it to have thousands of competitors. I wanted it to be unique, and even though it has been four years since I created a rudimentary version of this site, there are still only a couple other Murray Head sites in existence. Despite the lack of dozens of fan sites, I feel that Murray has enough fans worldwide to make my site not only a fun project but a useful resource to those who are seeking information on him & his music.
With almost one-half million page hits since its creation, this site has been viewed by more people than I ever imagined when I first started building it. I hope this will inspire him to continue writing & recording new music...
