(1996) Pipe Dreams is a departure from the rest of Murray's 1990s repertoire in terms of both sound and mood. Overall the feel is very message-oriented, be it historical, current politics, and maybe a hint of love. A couple songs have a traditional country sound that, like Murray's other forays into non-native genre, make you wonder how a British guy can pull it off.
'Shadows of the Truth' is unfortunately the only track that features Murray's trademark howling, but it's enough to demonstrate he still gots soul. Thunder and snapping fires abound... Next ->
