(1985)  This album proved to be the most difficult of Murray's to find -- and, of course, the one I wanted the most. The idea of a live album intrigues me. It 's the opportunity to hear a more natural, real world sounding performance devoid of the re-engineering and effects a typically applied to a person's voice.

Murray pounds out most of the tracks on this album wonderfully harder than their studio album counterparts. I like the harder rendition of 'Never Even Thought,' and the enthusiasm in 'Say It Ain't So...' But I prefer the orchestrations & singing of the Between Us album versions of 'Countryman' and 'Los Angeles.' 'Pity The Poor Consumer' is finally expanded, as I had always thought the original (from Nigel Lived) should have been, but I really could do without the manic fiddling through the mid part of the song.

Overall this is a great addition to your collection - if you can find it.  Next ->
